About Me
I am blessed with a beautiful family. My primary leadership starts in the home as I love and serve my wife and learn to develop the hearts of my three amazing kiddos (I haven't updated my picture because I loved these ages and I'm more grey now than I was then).
I am a former police officer and a former missionary. My formal learning came from a B.A. at Cedarville University, an Advanced M.Div. at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, and a Ph.D. from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary.
I have led in the church and in academia in various positions. I was also part of a church consulting team for 14 years. I currently serve as the Associate Vice President within student development in the office of Spiritual Formation and Christian Community at Cornerstone University.
My wife, Bethany, is a Nurse Practitioner who specializes in pediatrics. She not only excels in treating physical trauma in the ER, but she is an expert in trauma competent care. She is regularly asked to teach in churches and schools about the effects of trauma, being trauma informed, and how to care for and interact with kids who have experienced trauma at all different levels.
